Aboriginal Students Take Charge Designing New School Uniform

Designing New School Uniform

Students at Sarah Redfern High School had the opportunity on Sorry Day to collaborate with community Elders Uncle Shane, Uncle Charlie and AEO Miss Kennedy in designing new school shirts for their school community.

Students used the design they created with Danielle Mate, a local Aboriginal Artist, their creative minds and deadly skills to create a new school shirt they could wear proudly with their peers. They even went as far as to design shirts they wanted to see their teachers wearing. The school can’t wait to get community, parent and teacher feedback on their designs and see the shirts in action around the school.
