Western Sydney Koori Netball Gala Day

So proud of the 15s Airds Lyrebirds Netball Team who played in an Aboriginal Gala Day at Blacktown on 13 April 2022. We played against three women’s teams, and the girls won one game and lost against the other team by one point. The girls had a great challenge but enjoyed it.

At first they were scared, then they overcame the challenge. The event was very entertaining, with stalls and community members. Tristan and Mary were there playing, as well as Brother Black with Koori Radio. Our team got a trophy for the best team for the under 15s but would like to thank the parents for allowing the deadly girls to take part in the day. Most of all, thanks to Vicki Connolly, the coach, and Melinda Brown as the manager/umpire. So proud of them.

On the day, the girls were given tickets to watch the Giants at Netball Central in Sydney. They had a ball and got some tips for out-playing skills.

Well done 👍 sisters!
